Super Senior In Training
Karen Tamson
Karen, alongside her husband, “Dr Ed,” is the co-founder of Super Seniors. She is also a USAT Level 1 Certified Triathlon Coach and an accomplished age-group triathlete who understands that every wellness journey begins with one courageous step. Whether a super senior is just starting to become more active, returning to fitness after time away, or dreaming of crossing an Ironman finish line, Karen’s passion is helping super seniors believe in themselves and move toward their goals with confidence.
As both a super senior and an elite athlete, Karen is deeply committed to showing that age does not define possibility. She continues to compete in Ironman races at age 63 and genuinely enjoys every moment of the journey. Since 2012, she has been honored as an All-American triathlete for 11 years, a testament to her discipline, resilience, and love for the sport.
Beyond athletics, Karen’s greatest joy is her family. She is grateful for her best friend and loving husband, their children, Wesley, Andy, and Ashley, and their adorable granddaughter, Maddie. Her life reflects the heart of the Super Seniors movement: wellness, purpose, family, resilience, adventure, and the belief that the best chapters of life can still be ahead.
Karen’s message to every Super Senior is simple:
Keep Moving, Keep Believing, Keep Becoming.

Super Senior In Training
Ed Tamson
Edward Tamson, Ph.D. (Dr. Ed), is the co-founder of Super Seniors, alongside his wife, Karen Tamson. He is also the creator of Tamson’s Life Quality Hierarchy©, a practical positive-aging framework that helps older adults live with greater wellness, purpose, wisdom, contribution, and vitality.
Dr. Ed is a positive-aging advocate, organizational development psychologist, counseling psychologist, sports psychologist, consultant, speaker, and lifelong learner. His work is dedicated to helping super seniors challenge ageism, reject outdated stereotypes about aging, and embrace later life as a powerful season of growth, resilience, service, and legacy.
Through Super Seniors, Dr. Ed integrates wellness, emotional intelligence, technology, artificial intelligence, financial security, relationships, life experience, wisdom, self-actualization, and transcendence into a single, clear framework for epic aging. His message is both practical and deeply hopeful: aging is real, but decline does not define your story.
At age 79, Dr. Ed believes that later life should not be viewed as a period of withdrawal or limitation. Instead, it can be a meaningful opportunity to strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, deepen relationships, share wisdom, pursue purpose, and contribute to something larger than oneself. Yes, he would take a bullet for his family and friends
Ed’s mission is to help super seniors elevate the quality and quantity of their lives while challenging ageism.
